Joan and Jerold Binkley
The Ted Ensley Gardens Endowment will be used to honor Jerold Binkley and Ted Ensley’s achievements and contributions to Ensley Gardens at Lake Shawnee.
The Ted Ensley Gardens is a first class public garden encompassing 20 acres, including 9½ acres of landscaped flowers, trees, and special gardens, featuring many annual, perennial, rose, water and rock gardens and an arboretum. The gardens incorporate shade and sun gardens.
Waterfalls, streams and ponds, with Lake Shawnee as the backdrop, complete the setting. A trailhead shelter, gazebo, pergola, large walking bridge and garden house add to the enjoyment of this beautiful garden.
The endowment will be used to maintain and preserve the garden at its current first-class level and permanently and prominently recognize Jerold Binkley and Ted Ensley.
Tax-deductible contributions can be made through this site or accepted through the Shawnee County Parks & Recreation administration office. A receipt will be issued to each donor. The Topeka Community Foundation and Shawnee County Parks & Recreation Foundation will provide a follow-up letter acknowledging receipt of each contribution.
The Jerold Binkley and Ted Ensley families thank you for your support.
