Q: Why should I donate to the Shawnee County Parks & Recreation Foundation?
The SCPR Foundation serves to reduce the financial burden on taxpayers while assuring that Shawnee County Parks and Recreation facilities remain first class and are preserved in a historically and environmentally efficient manner. It helps promote healthy lifestyle choices and improves the quality of life by providing the best in parks, golf course and recreation facilities and programs to residents of Shawnee County. Gifts made to the foundation may also be used to create a legacy or memoriam in the name of a donor or loved one.
The SCPR Foundation operates independently as a private, not-for-profit agency qualified as a 501(c)(3) organization under the Internal Revenue Code as an affiliate of the Topeka Community Foundation and is registered as a charitable corporation in the State of Kansas. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors.
