The Ted Ensley Gardens are a great place to take in the beauty of nature. The Horticulturists, with the assistance of volunteers plant more than 80,000 Tulips and Daffodils that are in full bloom for the annual Tulip Time in Topeka. In May more than 90,000 annuals are planted.

The Pergola, Gazebo and the Garden House can all be rented for weddings, receptions, anniversary parties and other special occasions.
Establish and maintain a $1,000,000 Endowment Fund managed by the Topeka Community Foundation & Ensure the perpetuation of Ted Ensley Gardens for the enjoyment of future generations.
These World Class Gardens would not be possible without the public and private partnership created between the Friends of Ted Ensley Gardens and Shawnee County Parks & Recreation.

These “World Class” gardens span 9 ½ acres. In addition to the fantastic panoramic views of Lake Shawnee the gardens also include: A Meditation Garden, Rock Gardens, Water Gardens, Rose Gardens, Water falls, Fountains, Gazebo and Pergola.
If digging in the dirt appeals to you, volunteers are needed to work under the direction of the SCPR professional Horticulturists to plant annuals, perennials, bulbs, spread mulch, pull weeds and work in the greenhouse. You get to share your talents, while connecting with people of all ages!
